Greetings from Israel. All is well to this point. We arrived in Tel Aviv yesterday (Wednesday). We boarded the bus to Jerusalem & stopped at the Mount of Olives before checking in to our hotel. It was a beautiful evening, with a full moon over Jerusalem. Arrived at the same hotel we started & ended with on the last trip, which means it was also the hotel where I had the heart attack. Rather interesting to re-trace some of that experience. I plan to walk "heart attack avenue" when we return at the end of our tour--hopefully with less drama. :-)

Today we went to Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls). It is still fascinating how God has been able to preserve His Word through all kinds of unlikely circumstances. We stopped also at En Gedi--lots of fascinating caves. En Gedi also is the spot of one of my favorite Bible stories about David & King Saul. It's humorous to me, but also shows David's completely human side!

We moved on to a place called Timnah where they have a replica of the Tabernacle. Great insights and lessons shared by some very learned individuals.

We ended up this evening in the very southern tip of Israel in the city of Elat. It is a resort city & our hotel is right on the Red Sea. Gorgeous! The Red Sea is actually a beautiful blue--go figure! Actually the Red Sea is called the "Reed Sea." Tomorrow we will go to an underwater observatory, then board a boat on the Red Sea for the late morning & most of the afternoon. We will eat lunch; snorkel; para-sail, etc.

Shalom!
Kim
